The in-game app is designed to be compact and slot nicely into your existing UI. However, you can move the app by left-clicking and dragging with the mouse. If this is the first time the in-game app has been launched, then it will appear in the center of the game. For players with multiple monitors, note that the in-game app will only show while the game is in focus. In In-game mode, when you launch the game, the in-game app will launch shortly after. The choice of mode comes down to personal preference, as both modes are fully featured and functionally identical. If you start the App without having launched the game, it'll open in Desktop mode. Running it in Desktop mode, however, allows you to run the app on a separate window, giving you a nice second-screen experience. This allows you to use all of its features without having to leave the game. In In-game mode, the app runs as an overlay drawn on top of your game. You can switch between modes through the switch located on the top right: There are two ways to run the app: In-game or Desktop mode. This causes all of your combat data to be written to a file on your computer. To make sure your logs have enough data in them, you will need to enable Advanced Combat Logging, which you can find in Game Menu -> System -> Network. Note though, that this will mean the app won't auto-launch when the game launches, and other Overwolf apps you have installed will be effected similarly. If you combine this with disabling the Overwolf setting to Start Overwolf when Windows starts, then you can ensure that Overwolf will only run while the app is running. You can also configure the app to auto-close Overwolf whenever you close the app. This lets you configure whether the app should launch when the game launches, as well as alter any hotkeys that the app uses. Once launched, you can click the "Settings" in the top-right to change app-specific settings. You can also launch the desktop version manually by searching for it in the Windows start menu: Settings If you are still having trouble or you don't have TeXShop installed, it's possible Atlassian are working on a fix to handle more applications that cause issues with the Companion App's file association module.Installation and SetupFirst, install the Warcraft Logs Companion app.īy default, the Warcraft Logs Companion will launch automatically in-game when you launch the game. I used a program called OnyX to rebuild the Launch Services database. I also had to rebuild the Launch Services database because TexShop was still being returned in the application list by `lsregister -dump`, even after being uninstalled. While it would be great for the Companion App to play nicely with this application, I uninstalled it because I haven't used it in several years. It would also cause a segmentation fault in the file-associations module being using by the Companion App. For some reason, this application was registered in Launch Services as a valid application for my image files. I had an application installed on my machine called TeXShop, which is a LaTeX editor. Ok! I have found the solution to the problem, thanks to one of the Atlassian support devs who was on a call with earler today.
